In the period leading up to September 2022, technology startups based in Leeds successfully secured £288 million in venture capital investment. This figure represents an impressive 88% increase compared to the previous year, positioning Leeds as one of the rare cities to defy the prevailing funding downturn. Highlighting the city’s resilience, this finding also points to the huge amount of tech talent that exists within the city.
Looking beyond Leeds, the wider Yorkshire region has maintained an upward economic trajectory post-pandemic, marked by the creation of an additional 42,000 digital tech jobs and an estimated contribution of £1.6 billion to the regional economy by 2025. Forecasts like this show why Yorkshire boasts the fastest-growing tech sector in the entirety of the United Kingdom.
Prominent events such as the Leeds Digital Careers Festival and [Leeds Digital Festival serve as testaments to the robust tech community that exists within the city. Audacia has a strong commitment to promoting careers in the tech industry, exemplified by our annual Academy program. This training initiative, spanning 3-4 months, offers specialised teaching in Full Stack Development, Software Testing and Front End Development. The course encompasses a comprehensive curriculum, from fundamental concepts to hands-on experience on real projects at the program's conclusion.
Participants in the Academy program are offered full-time permanent employment contracts, ensuring a long-term career path beyond program completion. Academy members remain valued Audacia team members for as long as they desire, with opportunities to transition into roles that align with their skills and interests.
This program serves as a gateway for individuals with no prior software development experience by providing them with the opportunity to engage with and join a thriving Software development and technology consultancy.
Within the Academy program, recruits receive comprehensive technical training, including coding in C# and proficiency in non-functional coding requirements, alongside the acquisition of non-technical skills like Agile delivery practices. Our experienced Senior Audacia Consultants and Engineers conduct training sessions through seminars and hands-on workshops, supplemented by modules delivered by industry experts within our organisation.
